After an explosively successful run at RhinoFest 2023, Chicago’s longest running fringe festival, Cats Cradle Theatre is thrilled to announce a full production of THE ALMOST EMPEROR OF THE UNOFFICIAL DEESTRICK OF LAKE MICHIGAN by Leah Roth Barsanti coming fall of 2024. Nominated for Best New Play & Best New Company by Broadway World in Chicago, ALMOST EMPEROR will foster relationships with various community organizations, promote the work of local indigenous artists, and examine equitable practices in our artistic process. Our hope is to make this production an annual event that will expand to new communities, deepen artistic tradition, and continue to educate Chicagoans on the history of their city!
